This week The New Windsor Park Stories celebrates the music of two magical voices, the words of two poets, 24 Irish teachers, Wilkes-Barre’s Bicentennial, and a dance troupe named Connemara.
The New Windsor Park Stories airs on WBRE-TV, Sunday morning at 11:30 a.m.
This week our program begins with a gift. Carole Lynn Campbell and Greg O’Brien team up for a memorable rendition of the The Gift. The music is beautiful, the singing is absolutely enchanting and the words leave you thinking about what is important in life.

The Irish Teachers Festival in Windsor Park 2006
Some storms pass quickly, but others linger, booming and pouring and then slowly revealing syrupy skies that deliver gentle showers, as one did on the evening of the Irish Teachers Festival on July 27.
The festival also marked the Dedication of the Memorial Water Garden to the heroes of Flight 93 and the 10th anniversary of Windsor Park, the abandoned dump Tony and Kitch Mussari transformed into an elaborate garden.

Hi, I’m Tony Mussari and this is Windsor Park on a marvelous summer morning. For the past several months, Windsor Park Stories has been in transition. As a matter of fact, we’ve been rethinking the series, and we’ve been trying to determine if there were ways that we could improve upon the stories that we tell and the way that we tell them.
Kitch and I are pleased to announce that on August 6, Windsor Park Stories returns to the air with a new format and in a new home. Windsor Park Stories will be broadcast by WBRE-TV on Sunday at 11:30 a.m.

Central to the American character is a spirit of decency and fair play. When an injustice is done to someone, you just want to correct it, you just want to make things right. For many years, there’s been an injustice done to a great man. His name is Herb Brooks. He’s been denied entry into the “Hockey Hall of Fame,” and those of us who have studied his life and those of us who admire him believe that that was simply not fair, not right, not just.

December 8, 2005, was a bitter cold day in Chicago. Late in the afternoon the snow began to fall. Walking the slick sidewalks was challenging. Driving was treacherous. WGN TV weatherman, Tom Skilling, was right on target with his forecast.
No one staying on the eighteenth floor of The Palmer House Hilton Hotel seemed to mind, however, because the people who occupied most of the rooms were Olympians who were headed to the Harris Theater a few blocks away.
At 8 p.m., the curtain would go up on the USOC's 2006 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. It was a night of memories and magical moments.
