Pennsylvania Scenes: Preserving the Huber Breaker and an Update from The Times Leader
During his interview, Monsignor McGowan talked about the Huber Breaker. He talked about breaker boys, and he talked about his father’s experience as a breaker boy.
Monsignor McGowan, as you know, was from Ashley, and the Huber Breaker is located in Ashley and Kitch and I thoughtit it would be a very good idea to present a Pennsylvania Scene on the Huber Breaker.

For many years, my wife and I along with a group of public spirited citizens have been trying to save the Huber. If truth be told, we’ve spent very long hours and we’ve had the best intentions, but we haven’t made a great deal of progress.

Choconut: A Pennsylvania Scene |

Over the weekend in a place called Choconut we connected with the heart and soul of America. Beneath the breathtaking artistry of the fall foliage in Susquehanna County, we visited with the ghost of Charles Lindbergh, and a wonderful cleric who had a dream that failed.
We met members of a mellow folk group of boomer musicians called Old Friends.
With the help of a former student and his parents, we recorded the magic of a group of artists and craftsmen who bring inanimate objects to life, and we filmed a parade of people celebrating a Bicentennial.
