Heroes Without Headlines
Pennsylvania is many things to many people, but during these long days of autumn conversations here have been about disaster, destruc tion, dislocation, and disappointment of both a physical and a personal kind
Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee brought record levels of wind and water to our part of the state. Today, almost two months after these natural disasters, people are working harder than ever to get things back to normal.
To prepare for a television interview about the Tropical Storm Lee, Kitch and I visited several flood damaged towns to talk with flood victims, learn from their experiences and relive the moments that challenged them in ways they never expected. We were impressed by the people we met, and inspired by their resilience. In so many ways, these are the Faces of America on its best day, and we are humbled by their courage and determination.

Battling Cancer: Great News
Kitch and I are making progress with our documentary about battling cancer. We have finalized arrangements for the production of the music and the song we wrote about our experience.
We are lining up interviews with people in Maryland, New York and Pennsylvania.
Every day we add new materials to our research file.
This is going to be a long and very demanding project. We are doing it without budget, and there is no timeline. We are energized by the good will and the encouragement we have received from people who have volunteered to help us.
We will keep you posted on our progress, and we reach out for your suggestions about the documentary .
Until the next time we hope that all of your stories have happy endings.
